Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee and IMEKO TC17, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 27th International Symposium on Measurement and Control in Robotics (ISMCR 2026), which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on September 17–18, 2026.
For many years, ISMCR has provided an important international forum for researchers, engineers, students and professionals working in robotics, measurement, sensing, intelligent systems and related interdisciplinary fields. More than a conference series, ISMCR represents a scientific community built through collaboration, exchange of ideas and long-term international cooperation.
The 2026 edition continues this tradition while highlighting emerging challenges and opportunities involving intelligent robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, sensing technologies, digital modelling, human–machine interaction and real-world applications across multiple domains.
We are very pleased with the growing international engagement already surrounding this edition, with contributions and contacts coming from different countries, institutions and research groups from both academia and industry.
Hosting ISMCR 2026 in Brazil also represents an important opportunity to strengthen scientific interaction between researchers from different regions of the world and to further expand the global and interdisciplinary spirit that has always characterized the IMEKO TC17 community.
We sincerely hope that ISMCR 2026 will provide not only a high-level technical and scientific environment, but also an opportunity for meaningful interaction, new collaborations and the strengthening of international friendships within our community.
